When a student starts mid year
When a new student starts part way through the year, you can follow these steps to get them a timetable:
- Register them in Atlantis. You do this either by hand by going to Students > Student data and selecting the appropriate year-level, or by importing the data from your SIS which is done by "File > Integrations".
- Go into the classlist screen to register them to classes. Students are registered not just to classes but also to horizontal structures in Atlantis, in order that we can check that student/class memberships conform to the structure. The toolbar on the classlist screen has a list of all your vertical structures, i.e. the points at which you need to make a decision about where the student goes. We recommend you start at the top of the list of vertical structures and work your way down, because this lets you e.g. assign them to a 'band' (half year-level) before assigning them to tutor groups and so on. Eventually you will be assigning them to individual classes.
- Communicate the student's timetable to them, e.g. by giving them access to Atlantis directly or by printing out their cyclical or date-based timetable.
